【芝加哥華僑文教服務中心新聞稿】中華民國內政部入出國及移民署表示，邇來陸續查證確認具雙重國籍之役男持外國護照入境，經役政單位依法限制出境，造成訴願或陳情案件之情形屢有發生。內政部爰於日前要求役政單位加強宣導相關兵役及入出境法令，請僑民役男留意合法之兵役權益。

我國兵役制度雖逐步轉型，惟役男依憲法及兵役法應負之兵役義務並未免除；凡具有中華民國國籍且在臺曾設有戶籍之男子，於年滿18歲之翌年1月1日起役，至屆滿36歲之年12月31日除役前，依法均有服兵役之義務。至在臺原有戶籍兼有雙重國籍之役男，無論其戶籍是否遷出國外，應持中華民國護照入出境；其持外國護照入境，依法仍應徵兵處理者，將限制其出境至履行兵役義務時止。

至於具有僑民身分之役男，依「歸化我國國籍者及歸國僑民服役辦法」之規定，返國居住「屆滿1年」時(「屆滿1年」之計算方式，以該辦法第4條規定之情形為準)，依法辦理徵兵處理。僑民役男如持外國護照入境，其入境在臺居停留期間亦應納入併計。
